11 Freight Train Blues

[00:23.77] I was born in Dixie in a boomer shed

[00:25.78] Just a little shanty by the railroad track

[00:27.76] Freight train was it taught me how to cry

[00:29.28] The holler of the driver was my lullaby

[00:32.53] I got the freight train blues

[00:39.28] Oh Lord mama, I got them in the bottom of my rambling shoes

[00:45.02] And when the whistle blows I gotta go baby, don't you know

[00:48.78] Well, it looks like I'm never gonna lose the freight train blues

[01:03.05] Well, my daddy was a fireman and my mama-ha

[01:04.68] She was the only daugther of an enginer

[01:06.93] My sweetheart was a brakeman and it ain't no joke

[01:08.43] Seems a waste to get a good man broke

[01:11.68] I got the freight train blues

[01:29.42] Oh Lord mama, I got them in the bottom of my rambling shoes

[01:33.43] And when the whistle blows I gotta go mama, don't you know

[01:36.93] Well, it looks like I'm never gonna lose the freight train blues

[01:42.17] Well, the only thing that makes me laugh again

[01:45.17] Is a southbound whistle on a southbound train

[01:46.92] Every place I wanna go I never can go

[01:49.68] Because you know I got the freight train blues

[01:56.68] Oh Lord mama, I got them in the bottom of my rambling shoes
