The Battle of New Orleans
[00:37.90] In 1814 we took a little trip
[00:40.64] Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip'
[00:43.15] We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
[00:45.90] And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans
[00:48.64] We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
[00:51.15] There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
[00:53.90] We fired once more and they began to runnin'
[00:56.39] On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
[01:01.64] We looked down a river and we see'd the British come
[01:04.39] And there must have been a hundred of 'em beatin' on the drum
[01:07.14] They stepped so high and they made their bugles ring
[01:09.64] We stood behind our cotton bales and didn't say a thing
[01:12.65] We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
[01:15.40] There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
[01:17.89] We fired once more and they began to runnin'
[01:20.65] On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
[01:25.89] Old Hickory said, "We could take 'em by surprise
[01:28.65] If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye"
[01:30.89] We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well
[01:33.89] Then we opened up our squirrel guns and gave 'em
[01:36.90] Well, we fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
[01:40.15] There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
[01:42.90] We fired once more and they began to runnin'
[01:45.40] On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
[01:50.65] Yeah, they ran through the briers and they ran through the brambles
[01:53.40] And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
[01:56.15] They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
[01:58.65] On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
[02:06.65] We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down
[02:09.14] So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round
[02:12.39] We filled his head with cannonballs 'n' powdered his behind
[02:14.65] And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind
[02:17.40] We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
[02:19.89] There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
[02:22.90] We fired once more and they began to runnin'
[02:25.40] On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
[02:30.65] Yeah, they ran through the briers and they ran through the brambles
[02:33.39] And they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go
[02:36.15] They ran so fast that the hounds couldn't catch 'em
[02:38.64] On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
[02:41.65] Hut, two, three, four
[02:44.15] Sound off, three, four
[02:46.90] Hut, two, three, four
[02:49.39] Sound off, three, four
[02:52.15] Hut, two, three, four
[02:54.00] Hut, two, three, four
