I Built a Friend

[00:00.94] I built a friend with three pieces of plastic and a pen

[00:06.89] I made him on the table in the den

[00:12.90] I gave him my old cell phone for a head, for a head

[00:19.16] And we spent holidays at my house

[00:24.39] And we left presents in a stocking

[00:29.40] And we bought bolts and things and strings

[00:33.64] And a new watch, that's what he got

[00:38.90] And we had so much fun together

[00:44.67] We knew we'd be friends forever

[00:49.14] And we had so much fun together

[00:53.64] We had so much fun

[00:57.65] Then I left for college in September

[01:01.89] And we wept cause we can't be together

[01:07.39] So I kept pictures to remember my old friend, my old friend

[01:16.42] Then I met this girl at graduation

[01:21.16] And forget my oldest creation

[01:27.13] And I guess I'll see him next vacation

[01:31.89] Send my best, I send my best

[01:35.89] And we had so much fun together

[01:40.39] We knew we'd be friends forever

[01:46.14] And we had so much fun together

[01:50.64] We had so much fun

[01:55.14] I came home to find him on the table

[01:59.66] With a note, scribbled out in pencil

[02:04.89] And he wrote, that he just wasn't stable all alone, all alone

[02:10.37] Next to him, an empty glass of water

[02:19.64] That he spilled, all over the body

[02:26.89] That I built, it fizzled and it popped

[02:29.67] And then it killed, and then it killed

[02:32.42] And we had so much fun together

[02:38.14] We thought we'd be friends forever

[02:43.15] And we had so much fun together

[02:48.64] We had so much fun

[02:52.39] I built a friend
