What is UI UX design
[00:00.64] Hello, I am Chheng.
[00:02.15] In this video, I will talk about UI/UX Design and
[00:06.67] its job opportunities in Cambodia nowadays.
[00:25.02] In the context of software development,
[00:27.79] we all used to hear about “Programmers” whom we often call “IT Technicians”.
[00:32.07] Programmers are people whose job is to write lines of codes to develop mobile or web applications runnable on our daily-used electronic devices.
[00:41.38] However, do you know people who plan and draw out interfaces for those applications?
[00:46.91] That guy is a “UI/UX Designer”
[00:49.41] UI/UX designers are guys whose responsibility is to sketch out interfaces of an application to fit desktop, tablet, or smartphones screen.
[00:58.21] UI/UX designers must finalize those interfaces
[01:01.49] before developers can turn those interfaces into real applications.
[01:05.51] UI comes from “User Interface”, which refers to what users see in an application.
[01:13.29] Designers can use buttons, images, colors, fonts, and other components as interfaces.
[01:21.33] Those interfaces also determine the flow of the application.
[01:32.39] UX is abbreviated from “User Experience”,
[01:36.15] which describes how users are likely to use and interact with an application
[01:40.93] based on interfaces.
[01:43.94] Moreover, UI/UX designers are also responsible for improving interfaces and the flow of an application regarding users’ feedback.
[01:56.26] Nowadays, many institutions,
[02:00.29] such as software-solution companies and banks,
[02:08.07] are recruiting UI/UX designers to draw application interfaces and deal with design tasks.
[02:13.60] UI/UX has become so popular that some banks create competitions on UI/UX design
[02:19.88] and provide many rewards to winners.
[02:24.90] After these competitions, banks will get improved interfaces for their applications.
[02:28.93] These improved interfaces will deliver better experiences
[02:30.43] to customers during the banking process.
[02:32.95] Additionally, e-commerce-platform companies,
[02:36.21] which focus on food delivery or online shopping, also hire UI/UX designers to update application interfaces to provide better services to their clients
[02:48.52] In Cambodia, the number of UI/UX designers is still less,
[02:52.80] so the job demands are still high.
[02:55.82] Some companies try to employ while some try to outsource UI/UX designers to cop with design tasks.
[03:01.09] In conclusion, UI/UX designers are guys whose job is to draw interfaces
[03:10.39] and decide how an application process will flow before developers can transform those interfaces into a real application.
