Ray Peterson - Tell Laura I Love Her

[00:01.76] Laura and Tommy were lovers

[00:05.48] He wanted to give her everything

[00:08.93] Flowers, presents and most of all a wedding ring

[00:17.96] He saw a sign for a stock car race

[00:23.01] A thousand dollar prize it read

[00:26.46] He couldn't get Laura on the phone

[00:29.91] So to her mother Tommy said

[00:34.70] Tell Laura I love her, tell Laura I need her

[00:43.46] Tell Laura I may be late

[00:47.18] I've something to do that cannot wait

[00:56.20] He drove his car to the racing ground

[01:00.19] He was the youngest driver there

[01:03.38] The crowd roared as they started the race

[01:07.37] Round the track they drove at a deadly pace

[01:11.88] No one knows what happened that day

[01:16.13] How his car overturned in flames

[01:19.85] But as they pulled him from the twisted wreck

[01:23.57] With his dying breath, they heard him say

[01:28.35] Tell Laura I love her, tell Laura I need her

[01:36.32] Tell Laura not to cry

[01:40.04] My love for her will never die

[01:49.34] Now in the chapel where Laura prays

[01:53.59] For her Tommy who passed away

[01:57.04] It was just for Laura he lived and died

[02:00.75] Alone in the chapel she can hear him cry

[02:04.74] Tell Laura I love her, tell Laura I need her

[02:13.51] Tell Laura not to cry

[02:16.96] My love for her will never die

[02:24.13] Tell Laura I love her

[00:00.00] Tell Laura I need her
