[00:05.77] I live in Antipolo City and basically grew up in here.

[00:10.28] I'm an only child, but I have a lot of friends that I hang out with.

[00:15.06] And I love Impressionism since it features pretty sceneries.

[00:20.64] I also fancy Surrealism, and the randomness of Dadaism

[00:25.42] My least favorite art style would be maybe, hmmm, Cubism

[00:31.00] For my self-portrait, I decided to pursue Dadaism and Surrealism.

[00:36.05] Dadaism highlights different objects' absurdity and randomness.

[00:41.36] In contrast, Surrealists draw attention to the meanings of these objects.

[00:46.40] For the process, I started by finding a reference picture,

[00:51.45] and then I sketched my face,

[00:53.58] newspapers and magazines were glued together.

[00:57.03] Since I went for styles that may not accentuate my physicalities,

[01:02.08] I made sure the materials aligned with my perception of myself.

[01:07.66] I also used the juxtaposition of both art styles

[01:11.11] to represent the duality of my approach to life.

[01:18.02] Sometimes, I view life with no meaning, like in Dadaism.

[01:23.06] Sometimes, I view life from the lens of a surrealist, where everything has meaning.
