Rupert Holmes - Escape

[00:14.78] I was tired of my lady

[00:18.23] We'd been together too long

[00:21.42] Like a worn out recording

[00:24.87] Of a favorite song

[00:28.32] So while she lay there sleepin'

[00:31.78] I read the paper in bed

[00:35.23] And in the personal columns

[00:38.68] There was this letter I read

[00:42.32] If you like piña coladas

[00:45.77] And gettin' caught in the rain

[00:48.96] If you're not into yoga

[00:52.41] If you have half a brain

[00:55.86] If you like makin' love at midnight

[00:59.31] In the dunes on the cape

[01:03.03] Then I'm the love that you've looked for

[01:06.22] Write to me and escape

[01:23.21] I didn't think about my lady

[01:26.66] I know that sounds kinda mean

[01:30.12] But me and my old lady

[01:33.58] Had fallen into the same old dull routine

[01:37.30] So I wrote to the paper

[01:40.38] Took out a personal ad

[01:43.83] And though I'm nobody's poet

[01:47.28] I thought it wasn't half bad

[01:50.73] Yes, I like piña coladas

[01:54.19] And gettin' caught in the rain

[01:57.65] I'm not much into health food

[02:01.10] I am into champagne

[02:04.55] I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon

[02:08.01] And cut through all this red tape

[02:11.20] At a bar called O'Malley's

[02:14.91] Where we'll plan our escape

[02:31.91] So I waited with high hopes

[02:35.37] And she walked in the place

[02:38.74] I knew her smile in an instant

[02:42.19] I knew the curve of her face

[02:45.64] It was my own lovely lady

[02:49.10] And she said, "Oh, it's you"

[02:52.56] Then we laughed for a moment

[02:56.01] And I said, "I never knew"

[02:59.46] "That you like piña coladas

[03:02.91] And gettin' caught in the rain

[03:06.36] And the feel of the ocean

[03:09.82] And the taste of champagne

[03:13.01] If you like making love at midnight

[03:16.73] In the dunes on the cape

[03:19.91] You're the lady I've looked for

[03:23.36] Come with me and escape"

[03:33.90] If you like piña coladas

[03:37.09] And gettin' caught in the rain

[03:40.55] If you're not into yoga

[03:44.00] If you have half a brain

[03:47.45] If you like making love at midnight

[03:49.31] In the dunes on the cape

[00:00.00] I'm the love that you've looked for

[00:00.00] Write to me and escape

[00:00.00] Yes, I like piña coladas

[00:00.00] And gettin' caught in the rain

[00:00.00] I'm not much into health food

[00:00.00] I am into champagne

[00:00.00] I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon

[00:00.00] And cut through all this red tape

[00:00.00] At a bar called O'Malley's
