Shes Like the Swallow
[00:04.15] She's like a swallow that flies so high,
[00:09.48] She's like a river that never runs dry,
[00:15.04] She's like the sunshine on the lee shore,
[00:20.38] She loves her love and love's no more.
[00:26.33] 'Tis out in the garden this fair maid did go,
[00:32.16] A picking a lovely primrose,
[00:37.76] The more she plucked the more she pulled,
[00:43.33] Until she's got her apron full.
[00:53.71] She climbed on yonder hill above,
[00:59.02] To give a rose unto her love,
[01:04.62] She gave him one, she gave him three,
[01:10.46] She gave her heart for company.
[01:16.32] And as they sat on yonder hill
[01:21.54] His heart grew hard, so harder still.
[01:27.13] He has two hearts instead of one;
[01:32.71] She says, young man what have you done.
[01:43.06] 'Twas out of those roses she made a bed,
[01:48.57] A stony pillow for her head.
[01:54.40] She laid her down, no word she spoke,
[01:59.64] For this poor lady's heart was broke.
[02:05.40] How foolish, foolish you must be,
[02:10.98] To think I loved no one but thee;
[02:16.57] This world's not made for one alone;
[02:22.43] I take delight in everyone.
