When will my life begin?
[00:07.67] 7 AM, the usual morning lineup:
[00:12.72] Start on the chores and sweep 'til the floor's all clean
[00:16.97] Polish and wax, do laundry, and mop and shine up
[00:21.21] Sweep again, and by then it's like 7:15.
[00:25.46] And so I'll read a book
[00:27.58] Or maybe two or three
[00:29.72] I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery
[00:34.23] I'll play guitar and knit
[00:36.35] And cook and basically
[00:38.75] Just wonder when will my life begin?
[00:51.50] Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts and baking
[00:57.07] Paper mache, a bit of ballet and chess
[01:01.58] Pottery and ventriloquy, candle making
[01:05.57] Then I'll stretch, maybe sketch, take a climb,
[01:08.77] Sew a dress!
[01:10.08] And I'll reread the books
[01:11.95] If I have time to spare
[01:14.08] I'll paint the walls some more,
[01:16.20] I'm sure there's room somewhere.
[01:18.60] And then I'll brush and brush,
[01:20.71] and brush and brush my hair
[01:23.11] Stuck in the same place I've always been.
[01:27.88] And I'll keep wonderin' and wonderin'
[01:30.54] And wonderin' and wonderin'
[01:32.66] When will my life begin?
[01:37.71] And tomorrow night,
[01:41.96] Lights will appear
[01:46.21] Just like they do on my birthday each year.
[01:56.30] What is it like
[02:00.55] Out there where they glow?
[02:05.87] Now that I'm older,
[02:09.85] Mother might just
[02:12.50] Let me go ...
