[00:04.92] Good morning, and welcome to the Adelphi Hotel.

[00:09.41] Thank you all very much for coming;

[00:11.16] some of you have travelled

[00:12.16] a long way to hear us today,

[00:12.92] and I hope you've all had good journeys.

[00:15.17] So let me introduce myself:

[00:17.92] my name's Peter Furlong,

[00:20.66] and this is my partner, Mark Davies.

[00:23.17] The purpose of this presentation, as you know,

[00:26.92] is to explain our business plans to you

[00:29.91] and hopefully to get

[00:31.67] you interested in investing in

[00:33.66] Clock Options Express.

[00:36.16] In my presentation, I aim to do three things.

[00:39.41] First, I'll give you a short summary

[00:41.92] of our main business idea.

[00:44.16] Then I'll tell you the findings of the market research

[00:47.67] that we've been conducting,

[00:48.91] and finally I'll outline

[00:51.42] our financial requirements and plans,

[00:53.41] which should show you what

[00:55.66] a sound and exciting investment

[00:58.42] Clock Options Express represents.

[01:01.17] If you have any questions

[01:02.41] you'd like to ask,

[01:03.41] I'll be happy to answer them

[01:04.42] at the end of the talk.

[01:05.66] So let's start with my first point

[01:09.41] - our main business idea:

[01:12.42] information and advertising display panels.

[01:15.92] This idea arose from the observation

[01:19.92] that in this city and in surrounding towns,

[01:22.67] there's a definite need for reliable

[01:25.67] and accurate information

[01:27.16] to drivers and other travellers

[01:29.16] concerning the time,

[01:30.67] traffic conditions,

[01:32.41] parking and the public-transport situation,

[01:35.91] and that this information could

[01:37.92] be shown on public display panels strategically

[01:41.66] situated on main road accesses

[01:43.92] to the city and at railway stations.

[01:46.67] They'd be paid for by leasing advertising space

[01:50.42] on the same public display panels.

[01:52.67] Now, to move on to my

[01:55.17] second point:

[01:56.41] market research.

[01:58.66] We started last year by

[02:00.42] conducting a survey

[02:01.67] of over 2,000 motorists

[02:03.91] who travelled

[02:05.42] in this area over a two-month period.

[02:08.17] Simultaneously,

[02:09.17] we commissioned a study of public-transport users.

[02:12.42] The findings of these two investigations

[02:16.41] can be seen on this chart,

[02:18.41] which clearly shows that not only

[02:20.66] would the display panels attract interest

[02:22.67] arising from travellers' need

[02:24.67] for reliable information,

[02:26.41] but that they'd also be a major

[02:28.92] focus for advertisers who'd be prepared

[02:30.67] to pay premium rates for leasing space ...

[02:34.66] ... and as you can see,

[02:38.41] our products have considerable

[02:40.91] market potential.

[02:42.66] I think that just about covers

[02:44.66] the market research,

[02:46.17] so let's deal with the third part of

[02:47.91] my presentation,

[02:49.16] which is to explain our financial requirements and plans.

[02:52.92] In this chart, you can see a

[02:56.66] breakdown of our initial costs

[02:58.41] into five main areas:

[03:00.91] suppliers, premises, equipment, staff

[03:02.41] and marketing costs.

[03:07.66] Now, you'll notice that although

[03:10.67] we've tried to keep our requirements to a minimum,

[03:13.16] there are ...

[03:15.42] . . . and I hope you'll agree that

[03:18.66] our concept's very valid

[03:20.42] and represents an extremely

[03:22.41] interesting investment opportunity.

[03:24.67] Now, if I can just summarise the main points

[03:27.92] again, they're as follows:

[03:29.42] first, we've got an interesting

[03:32.67] and useful product which,

[03:33.42] in this area, is not on the market at the moment.

[03:36.66] Second, our market research with

[03:39.17] both travellers and

[03:40.41] potential advertisers shows a clear

[03:42.66] demand for our product and a readiness to buy into it.

[03:46.41] Finally, our initial financial requirements of just

[03:50.42] £500,000 in the first year are modest,

[03:54.67] and the potential return on

[03:56.17] investment makes this a very attractive opportunity for

[04:00.16] involvement in the start-up of a new business.

[04:02.67] So, finally, I'd like to finish off

[04:06.66] by saying that it's been a pleasure talking

[04:08.41] to you all and thank you for your

[04:10.92] patience and interest in listening to me.

[04:12.92] Now, if you have

[04:15.92] any questions, please feel free to ask them.
