Taylor Swift - the last great american dynasty

[00:07.02] Rebekah rode up on the afternoon train

[00:10.63] It was sunny

[00:12.38] Her saltbox house on the coast

[00:14.39] Took her mind off St. Louis

[00:19.88] Bill was the heir to the Standard Oil name and money

[00:25.46] And the town said, "How did a middle-class divorcée do it?"

[00:32.90] The wedding was charming, if a little gauche

[00:36.35] There's only so far new money goes

[00:39.27] They picked out a home and called it "Holiday House"

[00:46.18] Their parties were tasteful, if a little loud

[00:49.10] The doctor had told him to settle down

[00:52.29] It must have been her fault his heart gave out

[00:57.07] And they said

[00:58.66] "There goes the last great American dynasty"

[01:05.03] "Who knows if she never showed up, what could've been"

[01:11.31] "There goes the maddest woman this town has ever seen"

[01:17.16] "She had a marvelous time ruinin' everything"

[01:25.12] Rebekah gave up on the Rhode Island set, forever

[01:31.14] Flew in all her Bitch Pack friends from the city

[01:36.98] Filled the pool with champagne and swam with the big names

[01:40.43] And blew through the money on the boys and the ballet

[01:44.94] And losin' on card game bets with Dalí

[01:49.21] And they said

[01:50.28] "There goes the last great American dynasty"

[01:56.65] "Who knows if she never showed up, what could've been"

[02:03.30] "There goes the most shameless woman this town has ever seen"

[02:09.14] "She had a marvelous time ruinin' everything"

[02:16.30] They say she was seen on occasion

[02:19.23] Pacing the rocks, staring out at the midnight sea

[02:22.95] And in a feud with her neighbor

[02:25.87] She stole his dog and dyed it key lime green

[02:29.59] 50 years is a long time

[02:32.25] Holiday House sat quietly on that beach

[02:35.96] Free of women with madness, their men and bad habits

[02:40.22] And then it was bought by me

[02:49.24] Who knows if I never showed up what could've been

[02:55.35] There goes the loudest woman this town has ever seen

[03:00.93] I had a marvelous time ruinin' everything

[03:07.57] I had a marvelous time ruinin' everything

[03:14.38] A marvelous time ruinin' everything

[03:20.76] A marvelous time

[03:27.58] I had a marvelous time
