Ray Peterson - Tell Laura I Love Her (RCA 1960)

[00:02.10] Laura and Tommy were lovers

[00:06.34] He wanted to give her everything

[00:10.06] Flowers, presents and most of all, a wedding ring

[00:19.37] He saw a sign for a stock car race

[00:23.90] A thousand dollar prize it read

[00:28.17] He couldn't get Laura on the phone

[00:32.68] So to her mother, Tommy said

[00:37.73] Tell Laura I love her, tell Laura I need her

[00:47.30] Tell Laura I may be late

[00:51.30] I've something to do, that cannot wait

[01:01.12] He drove his car to the racing grounds

[01:06.17] He was the youngest driver there

[01:11.25] And the crowed roared as they started the race

[01:14.44] 'Round the track they drove at a deadly pace

[01:19.77] No one knows what happened that day

[01:24.34] How his car overturned in flames

[01:28.61] But as they pulled him from the twisted wreck

[01:32.85] With his dying breath, they heard him say

[01:38.46] Tell Laura I love her, tell Laura I need her

[01:48.08] Tell Laura not to cry

[01:52.06] My love for her will never die

[02:02.98] And in the chapel where Laura prays

[02:07.49] For Tommy who passed away

[02:11.48] It was just for Laura he lived and died

[02:15.73] Alone in the chapel she can hear him cry

[02:21.04] Tell Laura I love her, tell Laura I need her

[02:30.63] Tell Laura not to cry

[02:34.62] My love for her will never die

[02:44.98] Tell Laura I love her

[02:49.51] Tell Laura I love her

[00:00.00] Tell Laura I love her
