[00:03.51] how to add subtitles or captions in YouTube Studio.

[00:05.95] It's really great.

[00:07.27] YouTube has made it easy to add subtitles or captions to your videos.

[00:10.20] So we're going to get started

[00:11.26] and show you a few ways to do that.

[00:13.65] All right, so here I am on YouTube.

[00:15.29] And what you're going to want to

[00:16.62] do is make sure you're logged in.

[00:17.95] And you can tell when you're logging in by this upper right hand corner.

[00:22.73] And select your icon.

[00:24.86] And scroll down to the third option, YouTube Studio.

[00:32.56] Alright, so this is going to take you to your studio.

[00:35.75] And what we're going to do is scroll down

[00:38.13] on our left to the subtitles tab.

[00:43.18] So once you select your subtitles tab,

[00:45.04] it will give you an option of,

[00:48.23] or a list of your videos that are gonna appear here.

[00:50.62] And I only have one video on this channel right here,

[00:52.48] just to show you guys how to do this.

[00:54.63] And what you're gonna wanna

[00:55.43] do is go to this little drop down where it says languages.

[00:58.09] and then select the video language.

[01:04.47] And this video is going to be in English,

[01:06.32] so I'm just going to type E

[01:08.99] and then select English and confirm.

[01:13.50] Alright, so what just happened

[01:14.56] once I selected the language is it's going to automate subtitles.

[01:17.48] And so essentially,

[01:19.07] if you want to even stop there,

[01:20.66] subtitles have already been automated for that video now.

[01:23.06] And as you can see,

[01:23.85] we know that because it says published automatic.

[01:26.78] However, say you want to edit those subtitles and make them custom,

[01:30.76] what you're gonna wanna do is go over to duplicate and edit and select that button.

[01:37.13] And what it's done is it has brought up a text box,

[00:00.00] all right here, that says all the words that is automated.

[00:00.00] And down here, if you scrub through, it shows

[00:00.00] kind of where these are going to appear in your video.

[00:00.00] So now that these are automated,

[00:00.00] what you can do is actually go in and make sure they're correct.

[00:00.00] So say that you want to change whether it's grammatical errors or...

[00:00.00] maybe specific wording that was messed up or spelling,

[00:00.00] you can actually go into this box and start to type.

[00:00.00] So I'm gonna add a comma or exclamation point,

[00:00.00] or I'm actually gonna say something else to the application.

[00:00.00] There we go.

[00:00.00] All right, so you can do that so on and so forth until you get it just how you want

[00:00.00] and kind of scroll through and just double check that this is everything you want it to be and how you want it to appear.

[00:00.00] All right, so.

[00:00.00] you can either do one of two things after you have that.

[00:00.00] You can one, save the draft, or you can publish it. And when you publish it,

[00:00.00] that goes live,

[00:00.00] so everyone can see the subtitles when they select the subtitle option for your video.

[00:00.00] Or if you're not quite done, you can save it as a draft.

[00:00.00] All right, so we're just gonna save as a draft.

[00:00.00] Now I'm gonna exit out of here.

[00:00.00] And now that that's been created here,

[00:00.00] you can see that it is right,

[00:00.00] or I'm sorry, it's this one right here,

[00:00.00] English video language, and it says published.

[00:00.00] by creator and it's actually a draft.

[00:00.00] And so here this has been our newest subtitle one and even though this isn't published

[00:00.00] because it says draft, if we wanna publish it,

[00:00.00] we can just select this button that says publish.

[00:00.00] However, say that you want to go and change it,

[00:00.00] you can select this three menu button and select delete and you can select delete captions

[00:00.00] and it will go back to the automatic captions that we had edited once.

[00:00.00] So that is how you add subtitles to your videos in YouTube Studios.

[00:00.00] Hopefully this was helpful for you all and don't forget to subscribe.
