plastic palms trees

[00:09.77] Used to drive 'round in your wrangler, in our deadbeat town

[00:13.89] In the parking lot, we would talk about all the drama

[00:18.93] Had nothing better to do

[00:21.98] Now I go out with my new friends to a party downtown

[00:25.53] In a new dress, 'til the liquor runs out

[00:28.56] Every weekend, go out somebody new

[00:33.77] You could say that all my dreams came true

[00:39.61] Oh, what an underwhelming view

[00:45.72] Thought that it was real, thought that it was worth it

[00:49.44] Out the window everything was looking perfect

[00:51.83] Caught in a dream, it's not what it seems

[00:57.67] Thought that I was fine sitting in the backseat

[01:01.13] In the mirror really looked like I was happy

[01:03.79] Caught in a dream 'til something in my head said

[01:07.87] I'm sorry

[01:08.79] You were just lookin' at plastic palm trees

[01:15.96] Plastic palm trees

[01:21.29] Didn't know you need a motive to keep a friend around

[01:24.74] To find a boyfriend who doesn't mess around

[01:27.66] Bet if you saw me doing well, you'd hit me out of the blue

[01:32.98] You could say that all my dreams came true

[01:39.08] Oh, what an oh-so-lonely view

[01:45.05] Thought that it was real, thought that it was worth it

[01:48.76] Out the window everything was looking perfect

[01:51.15] Caught in a dream, it's not what it seems

[01:57.00] Thought that I was fine sitting in the backseat

[02:00.45] In the mirror really looked like I was happy

[02:03.11] Caught in a dream 'til something in my head said

[02:07.09] I'm sorry

[02:07.89] You were just lookin' at plastic palm trees

[02:15.60] Plastic palm trees

[02:20.64] It's not how it used to be

[02:26.49] Staring at plastic palm trees

[02:32.33] It's not how (it's not how)

[02:35.25] It used to be (it used to be)

[02:38.02] Staring at plastic palm trees
