The Master's Call

[00:40.18] The night I heard my Master call
[00:43.39] One night we rustled cattle
[00:45.52] A thousand head or so
[00:47.90] And started them out
[00:49.50] On the trail that leads to Mexico
[00:52.69] But a norther started blowing
[00:55.06] And lightning flashed about
[00:57.45] I thought someone was calling me
[00:59.85] I thought I heard a shout
[01:03.30] Then at that moment
[01:04.90] Lightning struck
[01:05.96] Not 20 yards from me
[01:08.36] And left there was a giant cross
[01:10.74] Where once there was a tree
[01:12.87] And this time I knew
[01:14.47] I heard a voice
[01:15.80] A voice so sweet and strange
[01:17.65] A voice that came from everywhere
[01:20.31] A voice that called my name
[01:22.44] So frightened I was thinking
[01:25.88] Of sinful deeds I'd done
[01:28.54] I failed to see
[01:29.88] The thousand
[01:30.66] Head of cattle start to run
[01:33.06] The cattle they stampeded
[01:35.47] Were running all around
[01:38.12] My pony ran but stumbled
[01:40.51] And it threw me to the ground
[01:42.91] I felt the end was near
[01:44.76] That death would be the price
[01:47.42] When a mighty bolt of lightning
[01:49.54] Showed the face of Jesus Christ
[01:52.20] And I cried
[01:53.00] "Oh Lord forgive me
[01:54.59] Don't let it happen now
[01:56.99] I want to live for you alone
[01:59.66] Oh God, these words I vow"
[02:03.11] My wicked past unfolded
[02:05.49] I thought of wasted years
[02:07.89] When another bolt of lightning
[02:09.92] Killed a hundred head of steers
[02:12.58] And the others rushed on by me
[02:14.71] And I was left to live
[02:17.36] The Master had a reason
[02:19.48] Life is his to take or give
[02:21.87] A miracle performed that night

[02:26.92] The dead ones formed a barricade
[02:29.32] 'Least six or seven high
[02:31.62] And right behind it there was I
[02:34.04] Afraid but safe and sound
[02:36.41] I cried and begged for mercy

[02:41.21] A pardon I was granted
[02:43.33] My sinful soul set free
[02:45.98] No more to fear the angry waves
