The Keeper
[00:00.13] ♫
[00:03.59] One morning when
[00:08.11] The world was new
[00:08.90] When first we saw the sun
[00:11.28] The Lord lay down
[00:13.15] To rest awhile
[00:14.21] Pleased at what He done
[00:16.60] And of all the creatures
[00:18.20] That were made
[00:19.53] He loved the man the best
[00:21.83] So He placed into our hands
[00:24.74] The fate of all the rest
[00:27.40] "And all these things
[00:30.32] I give to you
[00:31.64] To keep and to protect
[00:33.77] From the greatest
[00:35.11] Of the big blue whale
[00:36.96] To the tiniest insect
[00:39.08] To rule with love
[00:40.68] And kindness
[00:41.74] The weak, the wild, the strong
[00:44.41] And treat My creatures gently
[00:46.80] Only you know right from wrong"
[00:49.72] But man was so conceited
[00:53.42] That he couldn't see the worth
[00:56.09] Of all the other creatures
[00:58.75] That roamed this lovely earth
[01:01.40] One by one we hunted them
[01:04.06] For food and sport and greed
[01:06.46] And one by one they disappeared
[01:09.11] Each species and each breed
[01:11.76] "And all these things
[01:14.68] I give to you
[01:15.74] To keep and to protect
[01:17.87] From the greatest
[01:19.46] Of the big blue whale
[01:21.05] To the tiniest insect
[01:23.18] To rule with love and kindness
[01:25.84] The weak, the wild, the strong
[01:28.75] And treat My creatures gently
[01:30.88] Only you know right from wrong"
[01:34.07] After many years had passed
[01:38.05] The Lord came back to see
[01:40.19] The earth and His creations
[01:43.38] That He left so fine and free
[01:45.77] "Ah, but where are
[01:46.83] All my silver streams
[01:48.15] The forests dark and green?"
[01:50.81] There was only dust and desert
[01:53.49] Where humankind had been
[01:56.14] "And all these things
[01:59.05] I give to you
[02:00.13] To keep and to protect
[02:02.51] From the greatest
[02:03.58] Of the big blue whale
[02:05.44] To the tiniest insect
[02:07.82] To rule with love and kindness
[02:10.48] The weak, the wild, the strong
[02:13.13] And treat My creatures gently
[02:15.53] Only you know right from wrong"
[02:18.18] "Where are all my animals?
[02:22.17] The hippo and the whale?
[02:24.57] And the fish
[02:25.62] That filled the ocean
[02:27.22] Before your ships set sail
[02:29.60] The lion and the tiger
[02:32.26] And the elephant so tall?
[02:34.91] Oh, I left you as their keeper
[02:37.32] Do you not recall?"
[02:40.22] "And all these things
[02:42.89] I give to you
[02:44.22] To keep and to protect
[02:46.34] From the greatest of
[02:47.93] The big blue whale
[02:49.25] To the tiniest insect
[02:51.65] To rule with love and kindness
[02:54.31] The weak, the wild, the strong
[02:56.70] And treat My creatures gently
[02:59.09] Only you know right from wrong
[03:02.02] Ah, treat My creatures gently
[03:04.14] Only you know right from wrong"
[03:08.65] ♫
