I Built A Friend

[00:02.44] *Verse 1*

[00:03.75] I built a friend with three pieces of plastic and a pen

[00:11.62] I made him on the table in the den

[00:16.36] I gave him my old cell phone for a head, for a head

[00:23.11] And we spent holidays at my house

[00:28.13] And we left presents in a stocking

[00:32.61] And we bought bolts and things and strings

[00:37.39] And a new watch, that's what he got

[00:43.00] *Chorus*

[00:43.00] And we had so much fun together

[00:47.75] We knew we'd be friends forever

[00:52.50] And we had so much fun together

[00:57.26] We had so much fun

[01:01.74] *Verse 2*

[01:01.74] Then I left for college in September

[01:06.49] And we wept cause we can't be together

[01:11.25] So I kept pictures to remember my old friend, my old friend

[01:21.03] Then I met this girl at graduation

[01:25.50] And forget my oldest creation

[01:30.25] And I guess I'll see him next vacation

[01:35.28] Send my best, I send my best

[01:40.25] *Chorus*

[01:40.25] And we had so much fun together

[01:45.26] We knew we'd be friends forever

[01:50.00] And we had so much fun together

[01:54.79] We had so much fun

[01:59.27] *Bridge*

[01:59.27] I came home to find him on the table

[02:04.00] With a note, scribbled out in pencil

[02:08.74] And he wrote, that he just wasn't stable all alone, all alone

[02:18.51] Next to him, an empty glass of water

[02:23.25] That he spilt, all over the body that I built

[02:30.99] It fizzled and it popped

[02:32.75] And then it killed, and then it killed

[02:38.01] *Chorus*

[02:38.01] And we had so much fun together

[02:42.74] We thought we'd be friends forever

[02:47.79] And we had so much fun together

[02:52.39] We had so much fun

[02:56.54] I built a friend
