"First Time"
[00:12.57] I put on my make up
[00:14.25] Spray my perfume
[00:16.02] Sat on the front porch, waitin' on you
[00:19.25] Said we would catch up because it had been awhile
[00:25.24] I hate to admit it
[00:27.00] But my hands are shaking
[00:28.75] Barely breathin'
[00:30.49] Heart is racin'
[00:32.25] Looks like feelings don't always change their minds
[00:39.25] But you never called, never showed up
[00:42.50] Guess somethings never change
[00:44.92] And just like living in a flashback... you let me down again
[00:51.41] And that's why the past should be the past
[00:55.04] Far behind, back of mind, out of the way
[00:58.54] Let the memories burn and crash
[01:01.78] 'Cause sittin' here looking at the driveway
[01:04.80] Is just tearin' my heart back in half
[01:08.27] Like nothings changed except the time that's passed
[01:11.77] And that's why good-bye should mean good-bye
[01:17.02] The first time
[01:23.91] I should know better
[01:25.65] I hate that I still cry
[01:27.14] Lookin' like a fool here watchin' for headlights
[01:30.91] And kickin' myself for believin' in you again
[01:36.66] I bet your out drinkin' with a new blonde and
[01:40.64] Telling her whatevers playin is her song
[01:43.63] Yeah and helping her up into your Chevy instead
[01:50.41] Even when you don't have me
[01:53.66] You can still be the one to hurt me
[01:56.90] It must feel good to know
[01:59.60] That I'm still holdin' on to letting go
[02:02.73] And that's why the past should be the past
[02:07.01] Far behind, back of mind, out of the way
[02:09.74] Let the memories burn and crash
[02:13.24] 'Cause sittin' here looking at the driveway
[02:16.11] Is just tearin' my heart back in half
[02:19.58] Like nothings changed except the time that's passed
[02:22.86] And that's why good-bye should mean good-bye
[02:28.36] The first time
[02:41.86] Yeah that's why the past should be the past
[02:45.86] Far behind, back of mind, out of the way
[02:48.85] Let the memories burn and crash
[02:52.35] Cause sittin' here looking at this driveway
[02:55.10] Is just tearin my heart back in half
[02:58.36] Like nothings changed except the time that's passed
[03:01.87] And that's why good-bye should mean good-bye
[03:08.10] So now I'm letting you go, just like I should've tried
[03:13.60] The first time
[03:19.87] Oh, the first time
[03:26.86] And that's why the past should be the past
[03:31.36] Oh, the first time
