[00:01.88] Todd: Hello, Ann! How are you doing?

[00:04.38] Ann: I'm fine.

[00:05.13] Todd: Ann, could you introduce yourself and tell people where you are from?

[00:11.38] Ann: Yeah. My name's Ann Hutchingson and I'm from Montreal, Canada. Right now I'm an English teacher in Tokyo, Japan.

[00:17.38] Todd: OK. What's Montreal like?

[00:19.88] Ann: Montreal is a really nice city. It's just very cold in the wintertime.

[00:24.38] It is.. it has four seasons and the nicest season is the summertime because it's really warm and people play a lot of sports.

[00:34.13] There are some parks in Montreal and you can go swimming and hiking and biking and rollerblading. It's a very interesting city.

[00:44.38] Todd: Wow! Were you born in Montreal?

[00:46.38] Ann: I was born in Montreal and I can speak two languages.

[00:49.38] English is my first language but I also studied French in high school.

[00:54.13] Todd: So, were you in a submersion program, or all your subjects in French.

[00:57.88] Ann: No, I went to an English high school but a lot of people in Montreal are in immersion programs.

[01:04.13] Todd: OK. Since you learned French, what do you think is the best way to learn a language?

[01:08.63] Ann: I think that you have to like learning another language and if you have a positive attitude then you can find learning another language fun rather than stressful so I think that I had a few French friends and we would practice.

[01:26.88] They would be very patient and I liked the fact that I could communicate using another language because then you have another identity.

[01:37.13] Todd: You have your French identity?

[01:39.64] Ann: I do.

[01:40.38] Todd: OK. So what's your name in French?

[01:42.63] Ann: "Mono e Ann"

[01:45.13] Todd: Wow! I need to get myself a French name?

[01:48.88] Ann: Todd.

[01:50.88] Todd: OK. Thanks a lot Ann.

[01:53.13] Ann: You're welcome. Nice speaking with you.
